The War

While Delviniyan was training in the Dravidian arts... and learning step by step on how to become the perfected being, events were unfolding in the outside world. The two opposing strands of Dravidian Brahmanism: Kalaiyyan thought and Aaiyyanist Aardra philosophy were becoming more divergent. There were many incidents between the two Kingdoms (Kalaiyyan and Eruvaayan). There were slight disagreements between different temples concerning the timings of rituals. Festivals being cancelled by one side to thwart the other. There were minor border clashes. As a modern human looking back with our wise eyes, knowledge and hindsight, one can know that tolerance, acceptance and oneness is the true path. These early humans were wise and one with the Gods, but they did not fully comprehend that small actions may lead to bigger things.

Thus, these minor incidents increased in pace until the divisions between both sets of peoples were very great. It was also said that the ancient Dravidian Asuras (Demons) had a hand to play in this discord, as it was part of a greater path yet to be fulfilled, that only the Asuric mind could comprehend. Suffice it to say, there was a supreme tension between both sides that was growing exponentially... until one day even the most simplest of minds could comprehend fully the inevitability of war.

The Aaiyyanist Kingdom of Eruvaayan and the Kalaiyyan Kingdom ruled by Queen Sironemaniyaa started preparing for war and each side had amassed over 100,000 well trained experienced warriors. The clash of ideas, actions and culture between both sides looked to become one of utter destruction.

Meanwhile, Delviniyan was learning everything required on how to rule this material plane, and the philosophy and spirituality needed to master the Universal planes. As mentioned previously, Delviniyan was taught the mastery of thought, weaponry, states-craft, magic, philosophy and the other secrets revealed in the beginning parts of the 12 rings of Aaiyyan. So that even though Delviniyan was isolated in the forest with Murugan, he began to understand fully the outer and inner worlds. Thus he knew that war was coming.

So, after the training had ended and Delviniyan had supreme knowledge of the seen and unseen he solemnly addressed Murugan: "I will join the war and fight on the side of the pure Aaiyyanist Kingdom of Eruvaayan".

"And go against your own kinsmen and your own bloodline?", Murugan queried.

"Yes", said Delviniyan . "I will shatter the preconceptions of my lineage and fight the greater battle for truth. Through Yogic training I now understand that I am not of Kalaiyyan blood, but I do honour them and love them for all that they have done. However, there is a deeper link between me and the Aaiyyanist King, Prince Paamaranyaan and Princess Kabilanyaa that is beyond blood, beyond space and time, it is beyond Karmic links and though it is hidden from me I believe that my alignment with the Aaiyyanists is the key to understanding Brahman's will."

Murugan paused for a while and then answered: "Then I will lend you 1000 of my Siddhic forest dwellers who will fight by your side. You have mastery over all combat forms as well as mastering the Alavuyyan form which gives you unparalleled strength and fortitude. My men also possess this knowledge. I will give you a battle horse forged from a lock of Shiva's hair that has unlimited strength and can ride forever. I will also gift you this spear of power. It is a fine weapon but not my finest. The finest weapon of truth - 'The Vel', I am still waiting for, although I have seen it already.

"When will you hold the Vel?", ask Delviniyan.

"Only when the Vel decides, will the Vel come...", stated Murugan. "Is there anything else you require?"

Delviniyan replied: "Do you have a magical artefact to mask my appearance, some illusion to prevent both sides knowing who I am?"

"Yes I do", said Murugan, and pulled out an old clothe bag, and with his knife made two holes in it. "Place this over your head."

Delviniyan smiled and took the spear, the hood and his 1000 men and rode off to battle.
